A structured therapy that helps people process and heal from trauma or distressing experience. Commonly used for PTSD but effective for anxiety, phobias, and complex trauma.

Somatic Psychotherapy
Somatic psychotherapy recognises the link between mind and body, and that trauma and emotion are also held physically, not just mentally.
This modality supports clients in building safety in their body and regulating their nervous system.

ACT
Acceptance Commitment Therapy focuses on values-based living, and helps clients to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than avoiding them.
This modality incorporates mindfulness and cognitive tools to increase psychological flexibility and resilience.

Internal Family Systems and Attachment focussed therapy are based on early childhood bonds with caregivers, and how these influence adult relationships including relationship to self.
Therapy focuses on identifying relational and behavioural patterns and building healthier ways of connecting with others.

Trauma-Informed
Working from a trauma informed lens means understanding that behaviours often stem from adaptive survival responses, not “bad choices”.
An emphasis is placed on collaboration, client choice and control, and physical, emotional and psychological safety.

Neuroaffirming
As a neuro-affirming practitioner, I believe neurodivergence is something to be supported, rather than ‘treated’.
Neuro-affirming therapy supports and respects neurodivergent individuals, helping the to identify their needs and their strengths - without trying to ‘fix’ them or asking them to change to fit neurotypical norms.

MBSR
Mindfulness
Incorporated into her sessions are principles of the Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, developed by Jon Kabat Zinn.
MBSR combines mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and gentle movement (like yoga or mindful walking). It is backed by decades of research showing benefits for anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and general wellbeing.
